I have been looking through home decor magazines since I was a kid, instead of taping up cute boys pictures from magazines on my walls.

I have seen thousands of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, gardens… incredibly well decorated, but there is no doubt that my favourite is the Nordic style.
​
To focus on functionality while creating beauty is an important but difficult balance – that is the basic principle of Nordic design.
Tone everything done, pare everything back, strip it down, and abide by the "less is more”: approach. That doesn't mean it has to be boring, as you can see from this image selection, when done well, minimalism can be truly beautiful, warm, rich, and inviting. Just take it one step at a time; then sit back and truly enjoy the peaceful and calming space you've created.

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to reiterate the underlying philosophy behind it: Keep it simple.
